No Italian wine fan can ignore the buzz about Sicily. Already “where some of the best Italian value wines are on offer today” (The Wine Advocate), it’s enjoying an extra quality boost, thanks to the superb 2016 vintage.
Fortazzo – Italian slang for “strength” – arrives from the quality-focused Barone Montalto estate. They win BIG awards, like Vinitaly’s rare Gran Menzione in 2015.Customers raved about their Fortazzo Cabernet Sauvignon so much, we convinced their talented winemaker, Simone Cortese, to craft a luscious Chardonnay version exclusively for us.
This is an opulent, fruit-forward beauty that can stand up to (much pricier!) Napa Chardonnays. Simone treated the wine to a three-month slumber in fine French barrels, which imparts warm vanilla-spice notes to the ripe orchard and citrus fruit flavors.
A must-taste for lovers of ripe (and beautifully balanced) Chardonnays that is crying out for prompt orders.
