Bordeaux native Hervé Fabre left France for Argentina nearly 20 years ago, and today runs one of the country's leading estates. With the same quality obsession of a top Bordeaux château, he's built up a reputation for delicious, well-crafted wines at a very fair price – and was recently named “Best Argentine Producer” at London's prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition.
We’ve carried his popular Reserva Malbec for years, and now we’ve finally got hold of his very rare Gran Reserva. For this special cuvée, Hervé hand selected the ripest fruit from 80-year-old vines in the top Mendoza districts of Las Compuertas and Vistalba – then aged aged the wine for a year in fine French barriques. Enjoy the smooth result, which Robert Parker's Wine Advocate rated 90 Points: “Very intense with elegant, very fine tannins … it is caressing in the mouth, with impressive volume and fruit intensity.”
Enjoy the intense black cherry, plum and toasty oak flavors of Hervé's Gran Reserva with the classic match of steak (or any hearty red meat dish you choose). Drinking deliciously already, it will continue to evolve nicely over the next five years.
