Le Grand Chai St Emilion Grand Cru 2010

On the banks of the Dordogne (in the heart of Bordeaux) lies Le Chai au Quai. Inside this studio winery, talented winemakers take premium "parcels" of Bordeaux – cherry-picked from top vineyard sites – and treat these wines to luxurious barrel-aging. Because there's no fancy château name to pay for, you enjoy access to fine wines that could easily cost twice the price – like this exclusive Saint-Émilion Grand Cru.

Château Haut Brion-trained winemaker Jean-Marc Sauboua personally selected the Merlot for this limited-edition luxury. He and his team tasted 150 different Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2010s to find a wine that was worthy of the Le Grand Chai label. The winner comes from a small, hillside plot farmed by the Todeschini brothers – just a few hundred feet from the legendary Château Valandraud. The wine was then squirreled away in fine French oak and is now ready to impress.

All this high-end pedigree is made even more special, thanks to the fantastic 2010 vintage. Wine Spectator magazine raved about the "superb Saint-Émilions" and the vintage's "powerful reds." In fact, they rated 2010 an impressive 98 Points – the highest score in over 20 years.

Your exclusive taste delivers all the hallmarks of this incredible year: deep, dark plum, bramble and cinnamon aromas with a lovely mineral complexity.

If you're lucky enough to secure your share of this small-batch gem, we recommend you save it for a special occasion. Decant an hour before serving with roast red meats.
