Reed Renaudin has a big following with our customers, thanks to his consistently delicious and excellent-value wines. Things are no different with Mountain Hawk, one of Reed’s first releases from the highly acclaimed 2013 vintage.
It’s a sumptuous blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Syrah from a single, hillside vineyard that’s perched 2,400 feet up in the Sierra Foothills. Reed and his dedicated harvest team hand-picked the grapes in the cool, early morning hours to lock in freshness and aromatic impact. An 11-month slumber in American and French oak imparts traces of vanilla and nutmeg to the deep, blueberry/blackberry flavors. Velvety, well-integrated tannins plus a long, chocolaty finish are both signs of Reed’s deft skill (and the quality of the fruit from the vineyard).
Ideal with everything from game meats to hearty vegetarian meals, big reds fans will want to swoop in and snag their share of Mountain Hawk before Reed’s fans make off with our limited stocks.
