Recent superb vintages have sent quality in California through the roof. We’re thrilled to unveil this beauty from the Miller family, who own some of the Central Coast’s best vineyards. It was crafted by the hugely talented Aaron Mercer, who has a post-graduate in oenology from the University of Adelaide in Australia and has worked at top estates in Germany (the Mosel), France (Gaillac), Paso Robles and beyond.
For this exciting new release, Aaron sourced fruit from premium, sustainably farmed Central Coast sites – with a focus on San Luis Obispo county. The grapes were harvested in the cool of the night to retain freshness. In the cellar, Aaron employs minimal intervention approach – allowing the quality of the fruit to shine through. In 2013, the glorious ripeness of the vintage really played into his hands. He managed to capture a cornucopia of plush, aromatic apple, pear and melon flavors (plus a kiss of vanilla from fermentation in oak barrels) – while retaining a lovely vibrancy in the wine.
The smooth texture and ripe-fruited nature of this fine Chardonnay make it a perfect aperitif. With food, Aaron recommends pairing it with roasted chicken, pork or salads that incorporate nuts. However you decide to enjoy it, ensure your share today, as we have very few cases to share.
