“Exceptional … few whites recently have given me such satisfaction.” – Hugh Johnson
That’s a ringing endorsement from one of the most respected wine critics in the world. (Along with its kudos from the 2017 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.) And you have exclusive access …
Star of the Rhône Valley’s white Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Roussanne is a grape prized for its lush orchard fruit, honeyed richness and aromatic complexity. And thanks to California’s ‘Rhône Rangers,’ it now thrives in Paso Robles, along with Viognier (another Rhône grape that comprises 10% of the blend here).
The Millers, owners of the famed Bien Nacido vineyard, created Sidesaddle as a delicious tribute to Fanny Broome – the family’s matriarch whom they refer to as the original Rhône Ranger. An early settler of Paso Robles, Fanny was happiest herding cattle on the range (riding sidesaddle, of course).
The Millers, however, are happiest taking up the reins in the cellar, making delicious wines and impressing critics like Mr. Johnson. Better hop in the saddle and order soon, though – the Millers only made a small batch of this beauty.
