This acclaimed Sauvignon Blanc is an exclusive, small-batch release from James Macdonald.. He's nephew to Jane Hunter (“The First Lady of New Zealand Wine”) and winemaker at Hunter's Wines – one of the most renowned family estates in all of New Zealand.
The Jumper is a classically styled New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from premium Wairau Valley (home to famed Cloudy Bay). The region’s warm days, cool nights and rocky, heat-trapping soils produce that trademark balance of ripe, tropical-fruit flavor and crisp, mouthwatering freshness.
New Zealand wine expert Sam Kim rated a previous vintage 4.5 stars (out of 5), calling it "gorgeously ripe and lifted" and raving about its "peach, passionfruit and subtle herbaceous characters."
Winemaker James MacDonald has traveled all over the world, honing his craft at top estates around the world (the name "The Jumper" is a nod to his globetrotting antics). Delicious on its own, it's also a great match for a wide array of seafood dishes and mildly spicy Asian cuisine.
Just like its maker, this fine Sauvignon Blanc won't stay idle for long. James only made a few thousand cases (a drop in the ocean compared to Cloudy Bay, who produces well over 200,000 cases annually), and we have a limited allocation – so grab your share today.
