From its perfect geography to its perfect climate, everything about Chile’s vineyards is, well, perfect. And for fans of great Cabernet, there’s much to admire. Or, as Wine Spectator puts it: “Chilean Cabernet offers a great opportunity for consumers who love the king of red grapes.”
Taste for yourself with this perpetual best-seller, one of our all-time top-favorited reds. Made with grapes from some of the best vineyards in the Maipo Valley, it’s full of ripe black currant flavor. Patient oak aging adds complex, smoky notes.
Chile's Maipo Valley is a true winemaking paradise. The Andes and the fast-flowing Maipo River provide fresh, irrigating snowmelt; the Pacific offers up cooling breezes; and there’s plenty of sunshine above and rich soil below. All of which leads to complex, multi-layered wines. And its remote location helps keep Maipo (and Chile) free from vineyard pests, so the wineries here are organic by default.
Maipo is considered Chile’s red wine heartland and Tierra del Corazón gives a big nod to that sentiment (it means "land of my heart" in Spanish). A few sips were all we needed to decide how much we love this wine. We're sure you will too.
The rich, dark fruit and firm tannins in Cabs are an excellent match for juicy meats. Steak or roast beef would work well, as would nearly any kind of burger, from beef and lamb to vegetarian black-bean or portabella mushroom. It also goes does very easy on its own!
