The masterful Sam Trimboli (aka Mr. Medals, the winemaker behind some of our most-loved Australian wines) is at it again.
His latest release of Black Duck has won gold at two top wine competitions. Showcasing his favorite grape, Durif, along with splashes of Merlot and Shiraz, this lusciously rich red was also aged six months in American oak. It’s a perfectly delicious example of Sam’s handiwork (which has earned him more than 30 international trophies and just shy of 400 Australian awards during his winemaking career).
Full-bodied and well-rounded, it boasts layers of rich, black cherry and plum, with hints of violet and toasty spice notes. Serve it with equally full-flavored meals – from barbecue classics to hearty stews.
Better hurry though; this hugely acclaimed ‘black duck’ will take flight from our cellars all too quickly.
