2009 was a stand-out year for Carneros Merlot, and this perfectly mature stunner comes from California’s oldest premium winery, Buena Vista. It was established in 1857 by the self-proclaimed "Count of Buena Vista," Agoston Haraszthy de Mokesa. In his quest for "purple gold," this ambitious pioneer arrived in Sonoma just after the Gold Rush, to find the ideal soil, climate, exposure and existing vines. His story is colorful and impressive, just like this wine.
A fantastic value given the quality of the vintage and the wine.
