If you’re a fan of Cabernet Sauvignon, you are not going to want to miss this barrel-aged beauty from Hervé Fabre (former IWSC Argentine Winemaker of the Year). And we’re not the only ones singing its praises.
Top critic and Master of Wine Tim Atkin rated it 93 Points and wrote this mouthwatering tasting note:“The polish and poise that are so typical of the Fabre … style are gloriously in evidence here on this varietal Cabernet Sauvignon. Notes of chocolate, green pepper and graphite combine attractively on the palate, with stylish oak, filigree tannins and lovely fruit weight.”
The Bordeaux born-and-bred Hervé is very strict about quality – and it’s obviously paying off for those lucky enough to get their hands on his wines. His grapes, from 30-plus-year-old vines, are picked by hand and placed into small trays so they arrive at the winery in pristine condition. Just over half of the wine is aged in fine French barrels to give the perfect balance of fruit and fragrant oak character.
While the premium Mendoza subregion of Luján de Cuyo has a reputation for particularly fine Malbec, Hervé has Bordeaux in his blood, and his acclaimed Cabernet Sauvignon is just as exceptional as his award-winning Malbec.
