“South Africa’s calling-card white wine deserves serious attention. It’s time to consider the wide stylistic range of Chenin Blanc for your glass and cellar.”
– Wine Enthusiast
Originally from France, Chenin Blanc has found a veryhappy home in South Africa. If you’ve yet to taste one, then Petit Zebra will be a delicious introduction.
Petit Zebra is crafted by the renowned Gabb family and star winemaker Ben Jordaan (formerly of South Africa’s best-selling Kumala Wines). As you’ll see on the artful label, this lovely white honors Annie Rozier. Annie was a 19th-century flower merchant, who picked wildflowers from the hills surrounding the Gabb family’s homestead. Nearly 200 years later, these very same hills are planted with vineyards – including the ones that produced Petit Zebra.
Look forward to vibrant pear and green apple aromas and flavors, supported by a ripe tropical note (thanks to the warm 2017 vintage). With a fresh and zesty palate, this is a fun, easy-drinking white that will shine alongside grilled fish, salads, and more.
South African Chenin Blanc may be flying under the radar for now, but with top publications like Wine Enthusiast on the case, that’s sure to change. Secure your share before the rest of the world catches on.
