It definitely pays to have good friends on the ground in the world’s top wine regions – and here’s delicious proof.
Our Australian expert, Dan Parrott, unearthed this stunning white in the cellars of Bob Berton, the talent behind some of our favorite Aussie reds. A special project made from Vermentino – which top critic Olly Smith calls a “dazzling white grape with bright flavors that shine” – it puts a well-deserved ‘spotlight’ on Bob’s talents. The inaugural vintage won the ‘Wine of the Year’ title at the New South Wales Wine Awards, and the 2013 release won the ‘Best-of-Show’ trophy at Australia’s Royal Queensland Wine Show, along with a silver medal at the Cowra Wine Show.
Bob’s outdone himself with the lip-smacking 2015 release. You’re in for a vibrant blast of fruity aromas and tantalizingly fresh acidity. As you’ll taste, the intense Aussie sunlight gives it an even riper, tropical edge. Look forward to leap-from-the-glass citrus and tropical fruit aromas and plenty of apple, passion fruit and gooseberry flavor.
Rich yet crisp, this is the perfect partner for seafood – go for succulent lobster or tender sea scallops. Also makes a delightful alternative to Pinot Grigio. Hurry for your taste.
